And Just Like That...

...Autumn has passed us by! Maybe not on the calendar, but it sure feels chilly outside these days. Since the last photo gallery update, we've tried to maximize our limited warm days outside!

  • Our annual Turkey Trot was so much fun. No one caught that Mr. Sam Turkey! He escaped despite the very fast runners, especially in 4O. We loved cheering on the kids (and the Turkey) and celebrating friendly competition.

  • Miss Kailie has been taking on more teaching responsibilities in our classroom. In Language Arts she has been teaching us about the different parts of a fiction story and we have just started writing stories of our own. We are very excited to share what we've done so far at Parent-Teacher conferences!

  • In Science, Miss Kailie has been teaching about what plants need to survive and the different parts of plants that are part of survival. The students enjoyed her celery experiment (twice) and going outside to make etchings of different kinds of leaves.

  • October 31 was a blast! Thank you to everyone who sent in delicious snacks and helped your child into their elaborate costumes. The Zombie Apocalypse was a huge success - we even had a few survivors left at the end! A huge shout out for Mr. Belanger for organizing this annual event.

We have continued to develop and strengthen multiplication and division skills in math. Miss Kailie is excited to start a new fractions unit for November! We will keep up with daily fact practice so that when it's time for long multiplication and division we have all the tools we need.

There will be a few days off around Remembrance Day this month and December will be here before we know it! I can't wait to see you all in person next week!
